Etosha East to Divava Lodge, Divundu, Popa Falls
408 kilometres
Another early start to cover the distance to Popa Falls on the Okavango River.
We went south on the B1 to Tsumeb (taking the alternative route to avoid the gravel roads) and then the C42 to Grootfontein. It was then a long straight road north to Rundu on the B8. No towns as such but many small compounds and few people about.
From Rundu we followed the Angola border, still on the B8 to Popa Falls. There were warnings about petty theft in this area due to the large number of refugees from Angola. As accommodation is limited here for large groups we were spread across three lodges.
